Construction of Dongo Kundu Southern Bypass. Pile Load and Integrity Testing at Tsuenza Viaduct Location

The works were subcontracted to Asteriks Engineering ltd by Southern Engineering Company Ltd to carry out Pile load testing for fully cased in situ concrete bored piles in steel tubular casings over 40m long. The project was the construction of Dongo Kundu Southern by-pas. The test was carried on pile at Tsenza Viaduct Location.

The scope of works comprised of performing 1 static compression load test on a steel driven pile 40m long. The test load was using LVDT strain transducer digital displacement sensors with displacements recorded on a DATA logger. The measurement of load was from a load cell and the loading data synchronized and recorded in the DATA logger.

The tests were carried out in October 2020.
